All projects below were designed in conjunction with other architects or firms. Team collaborations allow for a greater range of expertise and can enhance the outcome of the project. As we were told when we were young, two heads are better than one (and many heads are even better!).
w/ Trulinea Architects, Telluride, Colorado
Single family second home located in Elk Run suburb outside of Telluride. All focus leads the eye to stunning views of Mount Wilson with an emphasis on privacy and a feel of seclusion.
w/ Trulinea Architects, Mountain Village, Colorado
Garage, 3 bedroom and spa addition to single family second home located in the Mountain Village. Bedrooms and services spaces are loaded into a tunnel that serves as a connector between the garage and spa addition and the existing home.
w/ Trulinea Architects, Telluride, Colorado
A young couple ready to start their family in Telluride purchased one of the highest lots in Aldasoro Ranch. The views are expansive and the weather is challenging at this small single family residence.
w/ Flintco LLC, Austin, Texas
Courtroom and ancillary facilities for county seat. Role in project was to run clash detection, coordinate all scopes of work prior to construction and manage quality control on site throughout construction phase.
w/ Bommarito Group, Austin, Texas
Corporate offices for non profit group in existing warehouse. Design used sustainable materials to differentiate between program and space while maintaining an overall open floor plan and collaborative feel.
w/ Shift Architects, Mountain Village, Colorado
Single family residence for a full time local resident with mobility disabilities. High profile site adjacent to golf course with sweeping views coupled with a need for privacy and wide routes for wheel chair a
Hospitality projects allow for higher budgets and increased opportunities for creativity. Our goal is to embody the theme of the surrounding region as visitors to these buildings are often tourists looking to immerse themselves in a new area or experience.
Blanco, Texas
A property geared towards the sustainable raising of animals for small scale meat production. On the site was the shell of an existing dairy cow barn. A commercial grade kitchen, private bath and bedroom were carved out of the interior while maintaining a rustic ambiance created primarily from reclaimed materials.
Carbondale, Colorado
Restaraunteers Lucy & Tobyn, are locals to the Western Slope and have a passion for inventive vegetarian cuisine. This remodel of a historic building in downtown Carbondale gave them a space where they are able to share their gift with their community.
Moab, Utah
A commercial corridor along the highway south of Moab is the ideal location for several up and coming hotels. This particular project preserves half of the site for long term local housing and gives the remainder of the property over to an 80 unit hotel with a design that references the surrounding colors and textures of the desert.
Wine Trail, Johnson City, Texas
Nestled on a knoll outside of Johnson City, Texas, the production facilities for Lewis Wines has interior, exterior, vertical and horizontal space for all phases of the wine making process. We are thrilled that the iconic shape of the building graced the original label!
Hye, Texas
A tasting room with adjacent individual hotel 'casitas' for a winery in the central Texas hill country. The 100 acre property with sweeping views hosts ample opportunities for future projects: event space, more casitas of varying size and tasting room expansion.

Austin, Texas
Balcones Drive is a highly sought after residential street in Austin. The mid century homes are on large lots and have often undergone several renovations in their lifetime. This home was one of the last on its block to be remodeled to a more modern ATX style.
Ancillary Building, Austin, Texas
Homes in the Tarry Town neighborhood are typically small. The Nelson home was no exception with only two bedrooms and two baths in the existing front house. In order to provide space for visitors and families, an ancillary structure in the backyard acts as both a hub for entertaining and a third, private, bedroom and bath.
JEREMY RANCH WORKSHOP
Park City, Utah
This family has lived in the same home for more than a decade. Although it suits them well, the husband of the couple is an amateur fly rod maker and required more space to work on his craft. The structure will also double as a guest house when needed.
BRIGHTON ESTATES RESIDENCE
Deer Valley, Utah
Brighton Estates is road accessible during the summer, but can only be reached on skis or via snowmobile during the winter. This compact resilient home mirrors the strength of a Client willing to go the extra mile for their dream home and location. Both embrace and revere their natural surroundings.

The studio is the one place an architect's mind and creativity can run free. Free from budgets and schedules and the complications of construction. Thus, the products of that environment show a level of inventiveness that could only arise from their purely theoretical nature.
Not everyone can see design intent through 2D drawings. The rendering is the piece that bridges the gap between what an architect sees in their mind and their audience. It is a mechanism to convey concepts in a manner that can be comprehended by all.
2 dimensional representations of design ideas are arguably the most important facet of an architect's job. This is the sole way that design intent is portrayed to the construction team. Development of methods that effectively describe that intent is truly the key.
It is said that there is a connection between the hand and the brain that cannot be mimicked through a computer. These pieces are all a culmination of medias from ink to paint to wood that explore that connectivity.

Our primary office is in the center of Moab, Utah, a thriving tourist town surrounded by national parks and red rock desert. We also work in Colorado’s Western Slope, the Park City/ Salt lake city Area and Austin. However, we are always open to exploring new regions and have worked on projects in Vermont, New Mexico, Arizona and Montana.
Clients often ask me what style I prefer to design. The answer to this question is the same regardless of the scale of the project, the location, the client, or the budget. CONTEXT: the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea and in terms which can be fully understood and assessed.
Every project comes with its own excitement and set of challenges. At Architectural Squared, our goal is to provide the best possible solution given the criteria you and your project bring to the table. The best results come with involvement from inception to occupancy.
